Pennsylvania Wins Little League Softball World Series with 1-0 Victory Over Indiana

On Sunday, Johnstown, Pennsylvania secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over Floyds Knobs, Indiana to claim the Little League Softball World Series title — Pennsylvania’s first championship since 1978.

Pitcher Reagan Bills was the standout performer, pitching a complete-game one-hitter with seven strikeouts. Bills threw 105 pitches, delivering 30 shutout innings without allowing an earned run throughout the tournament. Offensively, she also contributed two hits and drove in the game-winning run.

The lone run came in the fourth inning when Bills hit a double to bring home Sadie Divido. Indiana’s Briley Mercer pitched well, allowing four hits and striking out eight batters, but fell just short in the tightly contested game.

Bills showcased her resilience in the fifth inning by escaping a bases-loaded jam and recording her 50th strikeout of the series. The game was sealed with a 1-2-3 sixth inning, ending on a soft pop-up caught by Aubrey Baxter in left field.

Pennsylvania’s victory marks a historic moment for the state and highlights the talent and determination of this championship team.
