PIA Temporarily Suspends Canada Flights for Aircraft Maintenance
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a temporary suspension of its Pakistan–Canada flight operations for the month of September.
According to airline officials, the step has been taken to carry out mandatory maintenance of its special Boeing 777 long-range aircraft, which are capable of flying nonstop for up to 17 hours across the Atlantic Ocean.
Both long-range aircraft will undergo a three-week technical inspection and parts replacement, a procedure that is required every 10 years to ensure flight safety and reliability.
A PIA spokesperson explained that the timing of these repairs is crucial, as the airline aims to have its fleet fully prepared ahead of the upcoming passenger rush next month.
The spokesperson added: “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our passengers. However, passenger safety and aircraft fitness remain our top priorities.”
