PMDC Increases MDCAT Fee by 80%

MDCAT 2025: Registration Fee Increased by 80%, Exam Scheduled for October 5

Islamabad, August 8, 2025 –

Aspiring medical and dental students in Pakistan are facing a significant hike in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 registration fee, which has increased by 80% over the past two years, adding to the financial pressure on thousands of families.

In 2023, the MDCAT registration fee stood at Rs5,000, which rose to Rs7,000 in 2024. Now in 2025, candidates are required to pay Rs9,000 to appear in the test. Based on last year’s turnout of 32,977 students, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is projected to generate nearly Rs2.96 billion in revenue from this year’s registrations.


MDCAT 2025 Exam Date and Test Centers

PMDC has announced that the MDCAT 2025 will take place simultaneously in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Sunday, October 5, 2025. The test will be conducted by the following universities across different regions:

  • Punjab: University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore

  • Sindh: Sukkur IBA University

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar

  • Balochistan: Bolan Medical University, Quetta

  • Federal areas, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan & Overseas (Saudi Arabia): Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad


Registration Schedule and Fee Details

  • Online Registration: August 8 to August 25, 2025

  • Late Registration Deadline: September 1, 2025

Note: All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.


MDCAT 2025 Exam Format and Syllabus

The MDCAT will be held in English and will include 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be no negative marking. Subjects include:

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • English

  • Logical Reasoning

Question Difficulty Distribution:

  • 15% Easy

  • 70% Moderate

  • 15% Difficult


Test Centers Across Pakistan and Riyadh

The test will be conducted in the following cities:
Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot, Swat, Abbottabad, Gilgit, and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Candidates must choose their test center based on their domicile, and no changes will be permitted after submission.
