PTA Suspends License of Xtreme Solutions Over Non-Compliance
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended the operational license of Xtreme Solutions (Private) Limited for one month due to the company’s continued failure to meet regulatory obligations.
According to an official announcement, the action was taken under Section 23 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Reorganization) Act, 1996, after the company failed to submit its Annual Audited Accounts and pay regulatory dues for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
Repeated Reminders Ignored
Despite receiving multiple written and electronic reminders between October 2022 and January 2025, Xtreme Solutions did not fulfill its financial and reporting obligations. The company holds a non-exclusive license, issued on November 24, 2010, to operate Data Class Value Added Services under license No. DIR(L)/CVAS-352/PTA/2010.
As per licensing conditions, operators are required to submit their Annual Audited Accounts (AAAs) and pay the Annual License Fee (ALF) within 120 days after the close of each financial year.
Failure to Respond
A Show Cause Notice was issued on January 4, 2024, requiring a response within 30 days. A hearing was scheduled for May 13, 2024, but the notice was returned undelivered due to an outdated company address. The licensee did not appear for the hearing, failed to respond to notices, and did not update its contact details as required.
PTA made a final attempt to obtain compliance in January 2025, but again received no response. Following the company’s consistent non-compliance, a multi-departmental PTA panel proceeded ex parte and concluded that Xtreme Solutions had violated licensing terms.
Enforcement Action and Service Suspension
As a result, PTA has suspended the company’s license for one month, or until compliance is achieved — whichever occurs earlier. Failure to comply will lead to automatic license termination without further notice.
In addition, all telecom operators, including LDI, LL, TIP, and mobile service providers, have been instructed to suspend services to Xtreme Solutions until further orders
