The Punjab government has officially introduced Pakistan’s first “EcoBot”, an AI-powered digital assistant designed to enhance environmental awareness and provide citizens with real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) updates across major cities.
According to Environment Protection Department Secretary Sajid Bashir, the EcoBot acts as a direct communication channel between the public and the department, enabling users to instantly check air quality levels in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, and other major cities.
AI-Powered Environmental Awareness
Officials stated that the EcoBot uses artificial intelligence to deliver personalized responses and practical tips on reducing exposure to pollution. It also promotes environment-friendly habits, helping citizens make informed choices for better health and a cleaner environment.
The digital assistant aims to simplify public access to environmental data, offering actionable insights such as when to limit outdoor activities, wear masks, or use air purifiers.
Government’s Vision for a Cleaner, Greener Punjab
Secretary Sajid Bashir highlighted that this initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to adopting modern technology to tackle pollution and climate challenges.
“Our goal is to make Punjab cleaner and greener through innovative digital solutions,” he said.
The launch of EcoBot marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s environmental innovation, merging technology with sustainability to foster greater public participation in eco-friendly initiatives.
