Punjab Floods 2025: Over 4.7 Million People Affected, Relief Efforts Underway
LAHORE – September 23, 2025: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a detailed report on the impact of flooding in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers, confirming extensive damage across the province.
Scale of the Disaster

27 districts affected, with over 4,700 villages reporting flood damage.

Relief and Rescue Operations

283 veterinary camps established to protect livestock, with over 2.1 million animals moved to safety.
Compensation and Damage Assessment
Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed assured that, under the directives of the Chief Minister, all losses will be compensated. A damage assessment survey will begin on September 24, with compensation provided through a transparent process.
Tragic Losses
The floods, described as the worst in Punjab’s history, have destroyed thousands of homes, crops, and livestock. Entire villages, such as mouza Kak Shaal, were buried under sand, leaving residents without shelter or resources.
PDMA and provincial authorities continue relief and rescue operations as floodwaters recede, highlighting the urgent need for rehabilitation and support for affected communities.
