Saint Lucia Kings defeat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in CPL 2025 last-ball thriller

(Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail)
The Saint Lucia Kings edged out the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in a nail-biting finish to claim a thrilling last-ball victory in Match 6 of CPL 2025 at Basseterre.

Navin Bidaisee starred for the Patriots on his CPL debut, scoring a rapid 50 off 36 balls and keeping his team in contention during a tense chase of 200/8 set by the Kings. The match came down to the final delivery, with the Patriots needing four runs to win. David Wiese delivered a near-perfect yorker, but a slight miscue allowed Bidaisee to bunt the ball toward long-off—only for Tim David to take a stunning, ice-cool catch, sealing the Kings’ win by just three runs.

Roston Chase was named Player of the Match for his all-round brilliance, smashing 61 off 38 balls and taking 2/27 with the ball, including key wickets of Rilee Rossouw and Patriots captain Jason Holder. “It was a bit nerve-racking! I think we made it a hard victory, but I’m grateful for the two points,” Chase said post-match.

The loss leaves the Patriots with just one win in four matches, while the Kings soar to the top of the CPL table on net run rate, despite their opening match against the Falcons being abandoned due to rain.

Match Summary:
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots: 197/6 (20 overs)
Saint Lucia Kings: 200/8 (20 overs)
Result: Saint Lucia Kings won by 3 runs

This thrilling finish highlights the excitement and unpredictability of CPL 2025, with last-ball drama keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
