SCO Leaders Condemn Terror Attacks, Call for Stronger Cooperation
Tianjin, China – September 1, 2025:
Leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) have strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam (IIOJK), on the Jaffar Express, and in Khuzdar, pledging to enhance regional cooperation against terrorism.
In a joint statement issued after the Council of Heads of State meeting in Tianjin, SCO leaders emphasized that the perpetrators, organisers, and sponsors of such acts must be held accountable. They reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism, separatism, and extremism in all forms.
The organisation also stressed that no country or group should use extremist or terrorist organisations for political purposes, underlining the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states in addressing security challenges.
The summit, hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping, brought together heads of state and senior officials from SCO member countries, who reiterated their resolve to promote regional stability, peace, and mutual cooperation.
