Sindh Govt Raises Minimum Monthly Wage to Rs. 40,000 Effective July 2025
In a major step toward improving workers’ welfare, the Sindh government has officially increased the minimum monthly wage to Rs. 40,000, effective July 1, 2025. The notification was issued under the Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015, and includes revised rates for all categories of labor.

🧱 Unskilled Workers: Rs. 40,000/month

🔧 Semi-Skilled Workers: Rs. 41,280/month

🛠️ Skilled Workers: Rs. 48,910/month

🏗️ Highly Skilled Workers: Rs. 50,868/month
💼 Additionally, the minimum daily wage has been set at Rs. 192 per hour.
📢 Workers and Employers Invited to Share Feedback
Rafiq Qureshi, Secretary of the Minimum Wage Board, announced that this adjustment reflects an 8.1% increase from the previous wage structure. He encouraged both employers and employees to submit objections or suggestions within 14 days of the notification date.
⚖️ Equal Pay for Female Workers
Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thahim reaffirmed the government’s stance on gender equality in the workplace, confirming that female workers will receive equal pay to their male counterparts. He warned that any violations of the wage policy will be met with strict legal action.
🏢 Applies to All Workplaces – Registered or Not
The revised wage rates apply to all institutions, whether registered or unregistered. This inclusive policy ensures that every worker in Sindh, regardless of the sector or employer, benefits from the updated minimum wage standards.
