Lahore Traffic Police Crack Down on Helmet Violations, Over 100,000 Fined This Year
In a renewed push for road safety, Lahore Traffic Police have launched a strict crackdown on motorcyclists riding without helmets.
🚨 Thousands of fines were issued in just the past 24 hours, according to officials — and even police personnel haven’t been exempt. More than 50 traffic officers were also fined for violating helmet rules, highlighting the department’s commitment to enforcing the law without bias.
🚦 Promoting Helmet Safety Across the City
The city’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) revealed that over 100,000 helmet-related tickets have already been issued this year in Lahore alone.
Earlier in the year, traffic authorities also distributed 3,000 free helmets as part of an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging safer riding habits.
“Helmet use in Lahore has now crossed 90%, which is a major milestone in road safety,” the CTO stated.
✅ Why It Matters
Helmets are proven to significantly reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident. This ongoing campaign by Lahore’s traffic police is a step toward saving lives and promoting responsible road behavior.
With both strict enforcement and awareness initiatives in play, the city aims to set a strong example for other regions to follow.
