Hope’s Heroics and Seales’ Six-Wicket Burst
Batting first, the Windies were in early trouble at 68-3 before captain Shai Hope anchored the innings with a brilliant 120 not out – his 18th ODI century. Hope smashed 10 fours and five sixes, putting on a rapid 110-run stand with Justin Greaves (43* off 24 balls) in the final overs to lift the total to 294-6.
In reply, Pakistan collapsed under the fiery pace of Jayden Seales, who ripped through the top order, removing Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and Mohammad Rizwan within the first three overs. Seales later dismissed Babar Azam (9) and returned to clean up the tail, finishing with 6 wickets for just 18 runs.
Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie chipped in with two middle-order wickets, while Pakistan’s innings ended in just 29.2 overs.
Skippers React
“We’ve made history today,” said Hope. “Seales is a class act—anything you ask him to do, he delivers.”
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan admitted, “Losing three early wickets hurt us badly. Seales made it very difficult.”
Series Result
The West Indies won the three-match series 2-1, bouncing back after losing the opener. This triumph ends a 33-year wait for an ODI series win over Pakistan, marking a huge boost for Caribbean cricket.
