234 Pakistanis Have Died in Rain-Related Incidents and Flash Floods Since June 26

Pakistan Floods 2025: 234 Lives Lost, Over 590 Injured as NDMA Intensifies Relief Efforts

ISLAMABAD: Devastating monsoon rains and flash floods have claimed at least 234 lives and injured 596 people across Pakistan since June 26, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The ongoing extreme weather conditions have also damaged 826 homes, resulted in the loss of 203 livestock, and caused widespread disruption in both urban and rural areas.

    • Men: 79

    • Women: 42

    • Children: 113

  • Injured: 596 total

    • Men: 231

    • Children: 137

  • Homes Damaged: 826

📍 Most Affected Provinces

Punjab has experienced the highest number of casualties, reporting:

  • 135 deaths, including 63 children

  • 470 injuries, the highest nationwide

Other provinces reported the following:

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 56 deaths, 71 injuries

  • Sindh: 24 deaths, 40 injuries

  • Balochistan: 16 deaths, 4 injuries

  • Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK): 2 deaths, 8 injuries

  • Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): No deaths, 3 injuries

  • Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT): 1 child fatality


🚑 NDMA Relief Operations

To assist affected communities, NDMA has conducted 62 rescue missions, saving over 450 individuals. The authority has also set up 27 relief and medical camps, providing food, shelter, and health support.

NDMA has delivered 3,349 essential relief items, including:

  • Shelter & Bedding:

    • 349 tents

    • 358 blankets

    • 266 sleeping bags

    • 76 mattresses

    • 88 tarpaulins

    • 305 mosquito nets

  • Household Essentials:

    • 554 kitchen sets

    • 41 plastic mats

    • 25 hygiene kits

    • 35 jerry cans

  • Food & Fuel:

    • 153 food packs

    • 201 gas cylinders or stoves

    • 200 charpais

  • Emergency Equipment:

    • 95 dewatering pumps

    • 10 gabions

    • 30 life jackets

    • 3 rescue boats

NDMA has confirmed that rescue and relief efforts are ongoing, with support from provincial and local governments. The agency is also monitoring high-risk areas and coordinating disaster response plans as heavy monsoon activity continues.
