Aaron Judge Ties Joe DiMaggio With 361st Career Home Run in Yankees Win

New York: Aaron Judge made history Thursday night, hitting his 361st career home run to tie Hall of Fame legend Joe DiMaggio for fourth place on the New York Yankees’ all-time list.

The Yankees’ captain went deep twice in the first three innings of a 9-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium.

Historic Moment for Judge

Judge launched homer No. 360 in the first inning with a 413-foot drive to left-center off Tyler Holton. In the third inning, he matched DiMaggio by sending a 434-foot blast into the Tigers’ bullpen off Sawyer Gipson-Long.

The two-time AL MVP now trails only Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536), and Lou Gehrig (493) on the Yankees’ all-time home run leaderboard.

Manager and Teammates Praise Judge

“Joe DiMaggio transcended baseball,” said Yankees manager Aaron Boone. “For Judge to be alongside him on that list is special, and it’s a privilege to witness.”

Judge now has 45 career multi-homer games, just one behind Mantle for second place in Yankees history. Ruth holds the record with 68.

Fast Climb Up the Record Books

Judge tied DiMaggio in only his 1,129th game, compared to DiMaggio’s 1,736 games. DiMaggio played his final season in 1951 after a career interrupted by three years of military service.

The Yankees’ star slugger also leads the majors this season with a .322 batting average and has hit 46 home runs in 2025.

Looking Ahead

With his latest milestone, Judge continues to cement his place among the Yankees’ greatest players. As rookie pitcher Cam Schlitter put it: “He’s probably the best player in baseball.”
