Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Threatens Legal Action After Being Egged at UK Restaurant
Popular Pakistani singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has announced plans to take legal action against a UK-based restaurant after a video surfaced showing him being attacked outside their venue earlier this year.
What Happened?
The incident took place on June 19, 2025, outside Paratha Stop, a Pakistani restaurant in Blackburn, England, where Khan had just finished a live performance.
According to the singer, restaurant staff requested photos with him and even asked him to pose with their security team outside the venue. It was then that two masked men suddenly approached, pelted him with eggs, and struck his head before fleeing.
A video of the shocking moment was later posted by the restaurant on Instagram — despite Khan claiming that when he asked for footage in June to file a police complaint, management had told him no such video existed.
Khan’s Response
Khan expressed frustration at what he called the restaurant’s dishonesty. In a video statement shared on his own Instagram, he revealed that the owners, Erum and Faiz, had invited him to perform and assured him there was no recording of the attack.
“I felt unwell after the incident and considered filing a police complaint four days later,” Khan said. “When I asked for evidence, they denied having any. Now I see they lied to me.”
The singer has vowed to pursue the matter in court, even threatening to take steps to have the restaurant’s business shut down.
Threatening Calls After Incident
Khan also disclosed that he has been receiving threatening phone calls from unknown numbers since the video resurfaced. Some callers allegedly mocked his condition, asking whether he was “badly hurt.” Khan said he has saved the numbers and intends to hand them over to authorities.
Industry Support
The video has sparked widespread outrage in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
-
Actor Ahmad Ali Butt condemned the incident, writing that it was “disgusting” and proof of how society has lost basic decency.
-
Singer Asim Azhar also expressed support, calling the attackers “ill-mannered” and urging Khan to keep spreading joy through his music.
Final Word
Despite the humiliation, Khan said he was grateful for the outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow artists. The case is expected to move forward as the singer seeks justice through legal channels.
