Govt Announces Minor Change in Petroleum Prices

Petrol Price Unchanged, Diesel Becomes Costlier in Mid-September Review

The Finance Division has announced the latest review of petroleum product prices for the second half of September.

According to the official notification, the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs. 264.61 per litre. However, the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs. 2.78, taking the new price to Rs. 272.77 per litre.

In the previous fortnightly review, the government had reduced the price of HSD by Rs. 3 per litre, fixing it at Rs. 269.99. At that time, the petrol price was kept unchanged at Rs. 264.61. Meanwhile, the price of superior kerosene oil was cut by Rs. 1.46 to Rs. 176.81 per litre, and light diesel oil was reduced by Rs. 2.40 to Rs. 159.76 per litre.

The latest revision reflects the government’s ongoing adjustments in line with international oil price trends and local market dynamics.
