Islamabad Bans Sale and Use of Plastic Horns Ahead of Festive Season
The Islamabad administration has once again imposed a ban on the sale and use of plastic horns (commonly known as baaja) in the federal capital.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon announced the decision on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the ban.
“A ban has been imposed on the sale and use of horns in the federal capital. Legal action will be taken in case of violation,” said Memon.
The move comes as part of efforts to maintain public order and reduce noise pollution, especially during festive or public events where the use of such horns typically increases.
This is not the first time such measures have been taken. A similar ban was enforced last August to curb disturbances caused by excessive noise in public spaces.
Authorities have urged citizens, shopkeepers, and vendors to cooperate with the ban to ensure a peaceful environment for all residents.
