Man Utd land Benjamin Sesko on €85m deal

Benjamin Sesko Joins Manchester United in Major Transfer Deal

The long-awaited transfer of Benjamin Sesko has been finalized, with Manchester United officially announcing the signing of the Slovenian striker from RB Leipzig. Sesko has committed to a contract with the Red Devils until 2030.

Sesko’s impressive 2024/25 season with RB Leipzig, where he scored 21 goals and provided 6 assists across 45 appearances, made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards this summer.

Arsenal initially showed interest but ultimately chose Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. Newcastle United also entered the race, having their €90 million offer accepted by Leipzig. However, Sesko favored Manchester United, who made an €85 million bid. Despite being lower, Sesko pushed for a move to Old Trafford, leading to a deal between the clubs.

The 22-year-old striker signed personal terms with Manchester United, joining Ruben Amorim’s side on a contract running until June 2030.

Sesko’s arrival is expected to strengthen Manchester United’s attacking line after a challenging season. The club finished 15th in the Premier League — their lowest ever — with 42 points and missed out on Champions League qualification following a 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham.
