NADRA to Open Three New Mega Centres in Karachi to Enhance Citizen Services
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced plans to establish three new mega centres in Karachi, aimed at improving access and convenience for residents of the city.
According to NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali, the new centres will be located in Malir Cantt, Malir, and Surjani Town. This expansion is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to provide faster and more efficient services to the public.
Pak ID Service Fees Remain Unchanged
Ali confirmed that the fees for the popular Pak ID online service will stay the same as those at NADRA’s physical offices. Many overseas Pakistanis have already benefited from the platform, enjoying hassle-free identity services.
Ongoing FIA Inquiry
The spokesperson also addressed recent investigations, revealing that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is conducting inquiries involving the former NADRA chairman and other officials. Details about officials dismissed or under investigation will be shared with the media as the process unfolds.
Public-Focused Legal Changes
Ali emphasized that recent updates to identity-related laws are designed to benefit citizens. Meanwhile, issuance of birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates continues to be managed by respective Union Councils.
Improving Service Accessibility
NADRA has previously expanded its services to union councils in areas such as Saidpur, Sihala, and Model Town. The new mega centres in Karachi mark a major step forward in enhancing service efficiency and accessibility.
For example, the Citizen Facilitation Centre in Islamabad now assists thousands of people weekly, offering quicker processing and a smoother experience.
