According to a senior Pakistan Post official, all Postmaster Generals have been instructed to coordinate with local DISCOs and prepare a distribution plan for the initial phase by July 25.

The decision was reached during a meeting held on July 17, where both parties agreed to start with a pilot project. If successful, Pakistan Post will gradually take full responsibility for printing and delivering electricity bills over the next six months.

In the first phase, postal workers, supported by DISCO staff, will deliver bills within one electric subdivision per postal circle. This trial will help identify any challenges or gaps to improve the process before expanding nationwide.

The official added that the transfer of printing and delivery tasks will be phased to ensure a smooth transition. Additionally, a review of the postal workforce and delivery routes will be conducted to guarantee timely and efficient service to over 50 million consumers, including residential, commercial, and agricultural users.
