Pakistan to play entire Women’s World Cup campaign in Colombo, confirms ICC

ICC Announces Schedule for Women’s World Cup 2025; Pakistan to Open Campaign on October 2

LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the schedule for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, set to take place from September 30 to November 2, with India and Sri Lanka jointly hosting the tournament.

As per the hybrid model announced earlier by the ICC, all of Pakistan’s group-stage matches will be held at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan’s Journey Begins October 2

Led by all-rounder Fatima Sana, the Pakistan women’s team will begin their campaign on October 2 against Bangladesh. Pakistan secured their spot in the eight-nation tournament following an undefeated run in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier held earlier this year.

One of the most anticipated matches of the tournament will be Pakistan vs India, scheduled for October 5. The national side will also face top contenders, including defending champions Australia on October 8 and 2017 title winners England on October 15.

All matches will be played in Colombo:

  • Oct 2: vs Bangladesh

  • Oct 5: vs India

  • Oct 8: vs Australia

  • Oct 15: vs England

  • Oct 18: vs New Zealand

  • Oct 21: vs South Africa

  • Oct 24: vs Sri Lanka

Knockout Stage Details

If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals, they will compete on October 29 in Colombo. The final will also be held in Colombo on November 2, provided Pakistan advances.

In the event the national team does not make it to the knockout stage, the semi-final and final matches will be hosted in Guwahati and Bengaluru, respectively.

Warm-Up Matches

Ahead of the main event, all participating teams are scheduled to play two warm-up matches starting from September 24, offering a chance to fine-tune preparations before the tournament officially begins.
