Pakistan’s Best Broadband Internet Providers Ranked – Ookla Report 2025
After ranking Pakistan’s best mobile networks earlier this week, Ookla has now released its findings on the country’s top broadband internet providers in the Speedtest Connectivity Report (January–June 2025).
The report evaluates providers on multiple performance metrics, including download and upload speeds, consistency, streaming quality, and gaming performance.
Top Broadband Providers in Pakistan
According to Ookla’s data, PTCL Flash Fiber emerged as the best fixed broadband provider during the first half of 2025, with a score of 56.95. However, the competition was extremely close:
-
Transworld: 56.71
-
Nayatel: 56.31
This means the top three were almost neck-and-neck in performance.
Other notable performers included Cybernet and Connect Communications, both securing places in the top five. On the other hand, non-fiber PTCL connections fell behind significantly, scoring just 41.59.
City-Wise Broadband Performance
Among Pakistan’s major cities, Islamabad recorded the fastest median fixed download speed at 20.36 Mbps, followed by Karachi and Rawalpindi.
At the lower end, Faisalabad ranked last with 13.77 Mbps, while Multan and Peshawar also reported slower speeds compared to the top-performing cities. Across all six major cities, PTCL Flash Fiber maintained its position as the fastest provider.
Regional Broadband Rankings
On a regional scale:
-
Islamabad Capital Territory led with a median speed of 20.21 Mbps.
-
Sindh followed in second place.
-
Balochistan secured third place.
Meanwhile, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) reported the slowest performance, averaging just 5.31 Mbps, followed by Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Once again, PTCL Flash Fiber dominated the rankings, proving to be the fastest provider across four regions.
