PCB Dismisses Rift Rumors Between Shaheen Afridi and Salman Ali Agha as Fake News

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a strong denial in response to social media rumors suggesting a rift between Shaheen Shah Afridi, T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, and a member of the coaching staff. The PCB has called the claims “baseless, fabricated, and defamatory.”

No Dispute in National Camp, Says PCB

In an official statement, the PCB made it clear that no altercation or disagreement occurred during any training or practice session involving the national cricket squad. The board labeled the reports as part of a “malicious and fictitious campaign” designed to disrupt team harmony.

“These rumors are entirely untrue and seem to have been deliberately created with malicious intent,” the PCB emphasized.

🕵️‍♂️ Origin of the Controversy

The rumors surfaced online amid Pakistan’s recent T20I training camp, where Shaheen Afridi returned to the squad after a brief absence. Some social media users speculated about tension between the fast bowler and Salman Ali Agha, but the PCB has categorically rejected these allegations.

⚖️ Legal Action Against Misinformation

The board didn’t stop at a verbal rebuttal. The PCB announced it will pursue strict legal measures, including defamation and cybercrime charges, against anyone found responsible for circulating the false claims.

“This is a serious and premeditated defamation campaign. Legal action will be taken under all applicable laws,” the PCB warned.

⚠️ Advisory to Media and Public

The PCB urged the media, digital platforms, and the public to verify facts before spreading or endorsing such narratives. The board also called for responsible journalism, especially when national players’ reputations are at stake.

💬 Team Unity Remains Strong

Despite past frustrations regarding his selection, Shaheen Shah Afridi has not expressed any recent discontent publicly. In fact, Salman Ali Agha recently praised Shaheen, calling him a key bowler in Pakistan’s T20 plans for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.

PCB Vows to Protect Team Harmony

As the team prepares for major international tournaments, the PCB remains committed to preserving the integrity and unity of the national squad. The board reaffirmed that false speculation will not be tolerated, and it will take all necessary steps to safeguard players and staff from harmful misinformation.
