PDMA Issues Flood Alert as Monsoon Rains Set to Return in Punjab from August 5
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood warning for Punjab, as a new spell of monsoon rains is expected to begin on August 5. According to the PDMA, heavy rainfall is likely in several districts, raising the risk of moderate to severe flooding, especially in the Chenab and Jhelum rivers.

🛑 Authorities on High Alert
Punjab’s Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed has directed all relevant officials and departments to remain vigilant. The Director General of PDMA has also urged Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, and other emergency teams to complete preparations in advance of the expected weather.
The alert comes under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Punjab, highlighting the government’s commitment to proactive disaster management during the ongoing monsoon season.
