PMDC Clarifies Reports of 80% Fee Increase for MDCAT

PMDC Clarifies MDCAT 2025 Fee Increase Amid Social Media Rumors

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has dismissed social media claims suggesting an 80% hike in the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 fee.

In an official statement, PMDC confirmed the fee has increased modestly from Rs. 8,000 in 2024 to Rs. 9,000 this year — a 12.5% rise. This adjustment was made following requests from the universities conducting the exam, citing increased costs related to paper printing, security, logistics, and exam staff payments.

MDCAT 2025 is scheduled for October 5 and will be conducted through designated universities across Pakistan. The test will follow a uniform syllabus prepared by PMDC in consultation with key stakeholders. Registration opened on August 8 and will close on August 25, with a late registration option available until September 1.

The paper-based exam consists of 180 multiple-choice questions covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. Candidates can review the syllabus on the PMDC website and complete their applications online.
