Punjab Teachers Get Good News as SIS Portal Reopens for Marriage Transfers from August 10
Thousands of school teachers in Punjab are set to benefit as the Education Department has announced the reopening of the SIS portal for marriage-based transfers starting August 10.
According to the updated policy, only the wedlock transfer option will be available, making it easier for teachers to request transfers due to marriage. In a welcome change, this facility will now be available even if the spouse is not a government employee.

This decision comes after a month-and-a-half-long restriction on marriage transfers due to rationalization measures. With the policy update, the department aims to provide teachers with year-round transfer opportunities, helping them relocate according to personal needs.
Teachers are advised to log in to the SIS portal from August 10 onwards and submit their marriage transfer requests without delay.
