Punjab Extends Summer Vacation for All Schools Until August 31
The Punjab School Education Department has officially extended the summer vacation for all public and private schools across the province. As per the latest notification issued on August 7, 2025, schools will now remain closed from August 14 to August 31, and are scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 1, 2025.
This decision was made with the approval of the Competent Authority and builds on the department’s earlier notification dated May 20, 2025. The extension applies to all educational institutions operating under the School Education Department’s jurisdiction.
Clear Instructions for Implementation
The notification instructs all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs) to ensure strict compliance with the revised schedule. Both public and private sector schools are required to follow the updated calendar without exceptions.
Clarification Following Fake Notification Circulation
The official update comes after confusion arose due to a fake notification that circulated online, falsely suggesting an extension of summer holidays. At the time, the School Education Department had dismissed those claims and confirmed that no such extension had been granted.
Now, with this verified notification, the department has cleared the confusion and confirmed that the summer break will continue through the end of August, allowing schools to resume full academic activities on September 1.
