Punjab to Give Financial Support for Marriage of Prisoners’ Daughters

Dhee Rani Program Now Supports Daughters of Incarcerated Individuals

The Dhee Rani Program has been expanded to include daughters of incarcerated individuals, providing them with new opportunities and hope. The Social Welfare Department has directed all regional offices to ensure this important segment is covered under the initiative.

As part of the expansion, prisoner data is now mandatory for program inclusion. Sohail Shaukat Butt shared that the Multan division alone has received 124 applications from prisoners seeking support for their daughters’ marriages through the Dhee Rani Program.

This move marks a significant step toward extending social welfare support to underserved families and empowering daughters of incarcerated individuals.
