State Bank of Pakistan Selects Design for New Currency Notes
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially confirmed that a new design for Pakistan’s currency notes has been selected, marking a significant step in the ongoing currency revamp process.
📢 The announcement was made by SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad during a press conference in Karachi on Wednesday, where he also addressed the central bank’s decision to maintain the current interest rate.
“We are moving forward with the process of issuing newly designed currency notes. An internationally recognized expert has created the selected design,” the Governor stated.
🔄 The redesigned notes will be rolled out once they receive formal approval from the Federal Cabinet. However, no timeline has been provided yet for the launch.
💡 Important Note: The images circulating online are not the official designs. They were created as part of an SBP Art Competition and are unrelated to the finalized note designs.
This redesign effort aims to enhance security features, durability, and aesthetic appeal, aligning Pakistan’s currency system with modern international standards.
Stay tuned for official updates once the approved designs are made public.
