The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its latest Quality of Service (QoS) Survey for the second quarter of 2025, offering detailed insights into the performance of mobile networks across the country.

📊 Zong 4G has emerged as the top-performing cellular network in Pakistan, leading both average download and upload speed rankings, according to the official PTA report.

📈 Internet Speed Rankings – Q2 2025

Here’s how Pakistan’s major telecom operators performed during the second quarter:

Operator Download Speed Upload Speed
Zong 4G 25.64 Mbps 11.58 Mbps
Jazz 22.24 Mbps 10.79 Mbps
Telenor 20.09 Mbps 9.56 Mbps

🌐 How PTA Collected the Data

The QoS Survey was conducted using real-time testing in 13 major cities including:

Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and Muzaffarabad.

To ensure accurate and unbiased results, PTA used mobile drive test tools and specialized software installed in survey vehicles. Over:

  • 44,000 voice calls

  • 117,000+ data sessions

were conducted during the quarter to assess performance in real-world environments, focusing on metrics like download/upload speeds, signal strength, and latency.

📡 What This Means for Consumers

These latest figures are a valuable resource for mobile users deciding which network offers the best internet experience. With the rise of streaming, gaming, and remote work, faster download and upload speeds are more essential than ever.

Zong 4G’s consistent lead reinforces its position as Pakistan’s go-to network for internet reliability and speed.

🔮 What’s Next?

As Pakistan gears up for the launch of 5G, the PTA is already working on doubling internet spectrum bandwidth to accommodate the growing demand for high-speed mobile connectivity.
