Attock Launches Free Bus Service Across Seven Routes

Attock Launches Free Bus Service Across Seven Routes

Apr 13, 2026

The district administration of Attock has introduced a free public transport service aimed at providing relief to commuters facing rising fuel costs. The initiative includes the deployment of 22 buses operating across seven key inter-city routes.

The service was inaugurated by Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmed at the General Bus Stand Attock. He noted that increasing global petroleum prices, influenced by ongoing international tensions, have contributed to higher transportation costs for the public in Pakistan.

Under the new plan, free bus service has been launched on several routes, including Attock–Hassanabdal, Attock–Hazro, Attock–Fateh Jang, Fateh Jang–Pindigheb, Hasanabdal–Fateh Jang, Pindigheb–Jand, and Fateh Jang–Jand.

According to officials, the initiative is designed to ease the burden on daily commuters and help control inflation linked to rising diesel prices. The service is expected to benefit low-income and fixed-income households the most, by reducing their daily travel expenses.

The administration confirmed that 22 modern buses have been included in the first phase of the project. Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza stated that the service will be closely monitored to ensure smooth operations and maintain quality standards.
