Buying a Suzuki Bike Just Got a Lot More Expensive

Pak Suzuki Increases Motorcycle Prices Amid New Government Taxes | July 2025 Update

ISLAMABAD: Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has officially raised the prices of all its motorcycles in Pakistan, effective July 1, 2025. The price hike comes in response to the implementation of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) levy, introduced in the Federal Budget 2025–26, which imposes additional taxes on internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

💸 Updated Pak Suzuki Motorcycle Prices – July 2025

According to a notification shared with authorized dealerships, Pak Suzuki has updated its ex-factory prices, including freight charges, across all models:

  • Suzuki GD110S – Rs. 362,600

  • Suzuki GS150 – Rs. 392,900

  • Suzuki GSX125 – Rs. 504,900

  • Suzuki GR150 – Rs. 552,900

  • Suzuki INAZUMA GW250JP – Rs. 1,252,400

These revised prices reflect the growing financial burden on motorcycle buyers due to increased taxation on fuel-based vehicles.

🏛️ What Is the NEV Levy?

The NEV Levy, introduced via the Finance Act 2025, is part of the government’s initiative to promote eco-friendly transport solutions. It targets motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles powered by conventional engines.

However, some vehicles are exempt from this levy, including:

Fully Electric Vehicles (EVs)
Hybrid Vehicles
Vehicles manufactured solely for export
Diplomatic and special-use vehicles

🔍 Impact on the Pakistani Market

With the prices of petrol-powered bikes now significantly higher, market experts anticipate a growing shift towards electric and hybrid alternatives. The NEV levy is expected to drive long-term consumer interest in sustainable mobility.

“This price revision may lead to a ripple effect in the local auto industry, as other manufacturers adjust pricing in response to the NEV policy,” said an industry analyst.

🔋 Green Mobility Is the Future

As Pakistan pushes toward cleaner transportation, buyers are encouraged to explore government-incentivized options like EVs and hybrids. With fuel prices also fluctuating, switching to eco-conscious alternatives may help consumers save in the long run.

📢 Final Thoughts

If you’re planning to buy a new motorcycle, it’s important to stay updated on price trends, government policies, and available tax incentives. As the NEV levy reshapes the automotive landscape in Pakistan, affordable electric mobility might soon become the norm.
