Islamabad to Get World-Class Cricket Stadium as PCB’s Vision Moves Forward
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is making significant progress toward realizing its long-standing dream of building an international cricket stadium in Islamabad. According to local media reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially handed over the responsibility of designing and supervising the stadium’s construction to National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK)—one of the country’s most respected engineering firms.
A Major Milestone for Pakistan Cricket
The announcement was confirmed by NESPAK Managing Director, Muhammad Zargham Eshaq Khan, and marks a landmark moment in Pakistan’s sporting development. The stadium will be located in F-9 Park, a central and prominent area of the capital, and is expected to meet international standards, hosting both national and global cricket events.
Expert Oversight and Strategic Vision
A specialized team from NESPAK—including the Project Manager, lead architect, and structural engineer—has already completed an initial assessment of the site. Their goal is to create a state-of-the-art venue with modern facilities, making it one of the finest cricket stadiums in South Asia.
Adding further value to the project, former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif has been appointed as a technical consultant by the PCB. His experience and input are expected to ensure that the stadium fulfills all global criteria for professional cricket venues.
Government-Backed Initiative
This project has been awarded on a government-to-government basis, showcasing the federal government’s serious commitment to sports infrastructure. The initiative is being overseen by PCB Chairman and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, highlighting its strategic importance for the country.
A Game-Changer for Cricket Fans
For cricket lovers across the nation, this development promises a new era of sports entertainment. The new stadium in Islamabad is set to become a premier destination for international cricket and a symbol of Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing world-class sporting talent.
With top-tier facilities, expert oversight, and full government backing, Islamabad’s new cricket stadium is poised to become a proud landmark for Pakistan cricket.
