Pakistan’s Opening Ace to Miss ODIs Against West Indies

Fakhar Zaman Ruled Out of West Indies ODI Series Due to Hamstring Injury

In a blow to Pakistan’s cricket squad, opening batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies after suffering a left hamstring strain.

The injury occurred during the second T20 International, when Fakhar pulled up while chasing a ball in the outfield during the 19th over. Following immediate medical attention, scans confirmed a mild strain. As a result, he will not take part in the remainder of the tour.

Fakhar did not feature in the third T20I, where Pakistan secured a series-clinching win. He is set to return to Pakistan on August 4 and will begin his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) under the supervision of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s medical team.

The setback comes at a challenging time for Fakhar, who has been struggling with both form and fitness in recent months. His recent performances include a modest 53 runs in three innings against Bangladesh, and scores of 28 and 20 in the ongoing series against the West Indies before the injury.

With key tournaments like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup approaching, the team will be eager for Fakhar Zaman’s full recovery and timely return. His absence now creates opportunities for other players to step up and make their mark.

The ODI series against the West Indies is scheduled to begin this Friday, and fans across Pakistan will be watching closely as the team adapts to this late change in the lineup.
