UHS Approves Stricter Rules for Undergraduate Programs

UHS Approves New Student Promotion and Exam Guidelines for 2024

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Syndicate has officially approved amendments to its Undergraduate Programmes Regulations 2024, bringing more clarity to policies surrounding student promotion, probation, and dismissal under the semester system.

🔍 Key Changes in the Revised Policy

Under the updated regulations, students enrolled in programmes like BSc Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and Doctor of Pharmacy must now secure at least 50% marks in both theory and practical exams separately to pass.

Additionally, students must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 in order to be eligible for a degree.

📈 Promotion & Exam Rules

  • Students with a GPA of 1.7 or higher, who pass all subjects, will be allowed to advance to the next semester.

  • Those failing any subject or wishing to improve grades can take a resit exam, which will be held after every two semesters.

  • Failure in the resit exam will result in the student being moved back to the previous semester.

  • Repeated failures may lead to expulsion from the programme.

  • However, students will be granted one chance for readmission during the course of their degree.

🕐 Makeup Classes and Attendance

Students falling short of the required attendance can now benefit from makeup classes, as per the new rules.

✅ Exam Result Revisions

The UHS Syndicate also ratified changes to recent undergraduate examination results, ensuring they align with the newly approved rules.
