Working in Kuwait Just Became Easier for Pakistanis

Pakistan to Resume Sending Skilled Workers to Kuwait After 19-Year Ban Lifted

Islamabad – In a significant development for overseas employment opportunities, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) has announced the resumption of labor exports to Kuwait, following the Gulf nation’s decision to lift a 19-year visa ban on Pakistani citizens.

The announcement was confirmed through state-run media reports on Monday, marking a new chapter in Pakistan-Kuwait labor cooperation.

Kuwait Reopens Visas for Pakistanis

Kuwait officially ended its long-standing visa restrictions in May 2025, allowing Pakistanis to once again apply for:

  • Work visas

  • Family visas

  • Business visas

  • Tourist visas

The ban, originally imposed over regional security concerns, had also included other nationalities such as Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Hiring to Be Managed by Overseas Employment Corporation

The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC)—a subsidiary of the OP&HRD Ministry—will oversee the recruitment and deployment process for Pakistani workers heading to Kuwait.

Job roles currently open include:

  • Warehouse Supervisors

  • Warehouse Coordinators

  • Warehousemen

  • Carpenters

  • Assistant Furniture Workers

  • Drivers

  • Unskilled Labor

Eligibility for Warehouse Supervisors:
Candidates must be under 35 years of age, possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree, have fluent English skills, and hold experience in retail warehouse or logistics operations.

Application Deadline: August 15, 2025

Interested candidates are advised to submit all required documents by August 15, 2025. The opportunity comes at a crucial time, as remittances from overseas workers continue to play a vital role in supporting Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and economic stability.

Strengthening Pakistan-Kuwait Relations

Pakistan and Kuwait have enjoyed diplomatic relations since 1963, collaborating across various sectors including trade, labor, and infrastructure. The renewed labor cooperation is expected to:

  • Boost employment for skilled Pakistani workers

  • Strengthen bilateral ties

  • Support economic recovery through foreign remittances

Looking Ahead

With global demand rising for skilled labor and international job markets reopening post-restrictions, this move offers new hope for job seekers in Pakistan. It also reflects growing confidence in Pakistani talent across international employers.
