Pakistan, Bangladesh Explore Industrial Cooperation for Mutual Growth
Dhaka: Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan held detailed discussions with Bangladesh’s Adviser for Industries Adilur Rahman Khan in Dhaka on Thursday, focusing on boosting industrial and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of utilizing their industrial strengths to address challenges related to food security, value addition in the food sector, and modern industrial technology.
The meeting explored opportunities for joint ventures, mutual investments, and exchange of expertise across multiple sectors. The Pakistani minister highlighted Islamabad’s interest in becoming part of Bangladesh’s rapidly growing industrial landscape and called for creating a facilitative ecosystem for long-term growth.
He praised Bangladesh’s achievements in pharmaceuticals, textiles, and IT, stressing that Pakistan is eager to collaborate in areas that can generate revenue and socio-economic uplift.
On the other hand, Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan underlined Bangladesh’s progress in industrial development and identified leather, shipbuilding, sugar, agro-processing, and SMEs as priority areas for collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to strengthen bilateral trade and industrial partnerships through collaborative projects and sustained engagement.
