Pakistan Announce 16-Man Squad for Bangladesh Test Series
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team, scheduled for next month in May as part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle.
Squad Updates
Shan Masood will continue as captain of the Test side, while four uncapped players have been included in the squad. The new selections include Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.
Several players from the previous Test series against South Africa have not been included in the latest squad, as the selectors look to test combinations ahead of the tour.
Players in Training Camp
A number of selected players are currently part of a red-ball training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The camp is part of preparations for the upcoming overseas series.
Series Schedule
The first Test will be played from May 8 to 12 in Dhaka, while the second Test will take place from May 16 to 20 in Sylhet.
The squad will assemble in Karachi later this month before departing for Bangladesh in early May. Players involved in ongoing domestic and league commitments will join the team after completing their respective matches.
Coaching Staff
Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed head coach for the tour. He will be supported by former cricketers Asad Shafiq as batting coach and Umar Gul as bowling coach, along with a full support staff.
