China’s Guangdong Hockey Team to Visit Pakistan for 18-Day Tour

ISLAMABAD: China’s Guangdong men’s hockey team will visit Pakistan for an 18-day tour from October 12 to October 30, featuring matches against several Pakistani institutional teams and the country’s Under-21 and Under-18 squads.

The tour has been announced by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and will take the Chinese team to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt, Narowal, Lahore and Gojra.

Guangdong to Play Pakistani Institutional Teams

The visiting team will begin its match schedule on October 14 against MPCL at the MPCL Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi.

During the tour, Guangdong will also play against teams representing the Pakistan Army, Navy, Police, PDC, Pakistan Customs and Rangers.

The matches are expected to provide the Chinese side with competitive experience while giving Pakistani teams an opportunity to face international opposition.

Young Pakistani Players to Get International Exposure

The tour will also include fixtures against Pakistan’s emerging hockey players.

Guangdong will face the Pakistan Under-21 team in Gojra on October 26, followed by a match against the Pakistan Under-18 team in Lahore on October 27.

These matches will provide younger Pakistani players with an opportunity to compete against an international team and gain experience ahead of future competitions.

Tour Schedule and Arrival

The Guangdong delegation is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on October 12, while the official programme will begin with a welcome dinner on October 13.

The team will return to China on October 30 after completing its 18-day visit.

PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani said the tour would help strengthen hockey relations between Pakistan and China and provide valuable international exposure to young Pakistani players.

The visit is part of efforts to increase international competition and create more opportunities for Pakistan’s developing hockey talent.
