Motorway Police Launches Driving License Facilitation Center in Sindh
KARACHI: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has launched its first Driving Licensing Authority (DLA) Facilitation Center in Sindh to provide technology-based driving license services to citizens.
The new facility has been established at the DIG Office, South Zone, located on the M-9. It was inaugurated by Additional Inspector General South Region Javed Akbar Riaz.
According to the NHMP, the center will initially offer driving license services for motorcycles, cars, jeeps, and light transport vehicles (LTVs).
Modern Technology Introduced
The facility is equipped with modern technology aimed at making the driving license process more transparent, efficient, and convenient for applicants.
The new system is also expected to help reduce unnecessary delays and improve access to licensing services for citizens.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Javed Akbar Riaz said the facility was established as part of efforts to introduce standardized and merit-based driving license services.
He said an improved licensing system could also contribute to safer driving, better compliance with traffic regulations, and improved road discipline by ensuring motorists are properly licensed and familiar with traffic rules.
Facility to Serve Karachi and Other Areas
The NHMP said the new center will provide services to residents of Karachi and other parts of Sindh seeking driving license facilities through the Motorway Police.
The initiative is part of efforts to modernize licensing services and make the process more organized and accessible for applicants.
