Muhammad Irfan Reaches Asian Games Squash Semi-Finals

NAGOYA: Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan booked his place in the men’s singles squash semi-finals at the Asian Games after defeating India’s Veer Chotrani 3-1 in the quarter-final on Friday.

The match took place at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, where Irfan recovered from losing the opening game to complete a convincing comeback in 41 minutes.

Irfan Responds After Losing First Game

Chotrani made the stronger start and won the opening game 11-6 after a closely contested 10-minute battle.

Irfan quickly responded in the second game, securing an 11-8 victory to level the match.

The Pakistani player then took control of the contest, winning the third game 11-3.

He maintained his momentum in the fourth game and again won 11-3 to complete the 3-1 victory.

Pakistan Player Advances to Last Four

Irfan’s consistent play and ability to sustain longer rallies helped him turn the match around after the early setback.

Chotrani was unable to maintain the momentum he had built in the opening game as Irfan won three consecutive games to secure his place in the semi-finals.

The victory keeps Pakistan’s hopes alive in the men’s singles squash competition at the Asian Games.
