Quetta Green Bus Service to Add 17 More Electric Buses

Quetta Green Bus Service to Add 17 More Electric Buses

The Quetta Green Bus Service is set to receive 17 additional electric buses as authorities plan to expand public transportation to areas of the provincial capital that currently have limited connectivity.

The expansion was announced by Quetta Division Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari during a meeting focused on reviewing the existing Green Bus Service and identifying ways to improve facilities for commuters.

Quetta Currently Has 25 Green Buses

Officials told the meeting that 25 Green Buses are currently operating across Quetta.

Of these, four buses are reserved for women, with female staff also assigned to the women-only service to provide greater convenience and security for female passengers.

The current service operates on four routes, with buses running from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.

More Areas to Get Public Transport

The operating agency provided officials with details about the existing routes, bus stops, daily operations and facilities available to passengers.

According to the briefing, the Kuchlak route has around 40 stops, while approximately 50 stops connect the Metropolitan area with Sariab Road.

The planned addition of 17 electric buses is expected to help extend public transport coverage to more parts of Quetta and improve access for residents in areas with fewer transport options.

Green Bus Service Expands to Turbat

The meeting was also informed that the Green Bus Service has expanded beyond Quetta.

Four Green Buses are currently operating in Turbat, extending the electric public transport initiative to another city in Balochistan.

Authorities are continuing to review the service’s routes and facilities as they work on expanding public transport coverage and improving the overall commuter experience.
