Prince Harry becomes emotional at uncle’s funeral as William stays close by

Prince Harry’s unexpected visit to the UK for a memorial service did not result in a public reconciliation with his brother, Prince William.

The service, held on August 29 at St Mary’s Church in Norfolk, honored his late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, and took place just two days before the 27th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing.

During the service, Harry delivered an emotional tribute that left many attendees “astounded.” Despite the estranged brothers being present, they sat apart, each surrounded by different groups of their maternal cousins. According to a source among the 300 attendees, “Most people were surprised that Harry came. He was in remarkably good spirits and seemed pleased to see everyone.”

Though Harry and William were seen standing near each other while conversing with other guests, no direct interaction between the two was observed. Harry did, however, spend time with his mother’s siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes, Earl Charles Spencer, and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, with whom he remains close.

It’s understood that Harry did not visit his father, King Charles, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer and staying at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

A royal insider shared, “It was lovely—and appropriate—that Harry came to pay his respects.” Another source added, “Given everything that has happened with the family’s health, it’s likely Harry wants to spend time with people he is close to, especially his mother’s side of the family.”
