KARACHI: The 21st Westbury National Tennis Championship officially began on Thursday at the Karachi Club, drawing more than 230 participants across multiple categories, according to event organizers.

The opening day featured an exciting lineup of matches in the men’s singles qualifying round and juniors under-18 singles, along with the first-round action of the men’s singles main draw.

Men’s Singles Qualifying Highlights

  • Arham Shahzad dominated Fawaz Ali Tejani with a convincing 8-0 win.

  • Jawed Khan delivered a strong performance to defeat Maula Madad 8-0.

  • Yasir Fazli eased past M. Fawaz with an 8-1 victory.

  • M. Essa Jee defeated Amaan Garrison 8-2.

  • In a close contest, Farman Ali edged out M. Hamza Essa Jee 8-6.

Juniors U-18 Singles Qualifying Results

  • Zayd Ali cruised past Khuzaima 8-0.
