COAS Syed Asim Munir Visits United States, Meets Key US Military Leaders
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to the United States, engaging in high-level meetings with senior political and military officials, as well as members of the Pakistani community, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In Tampa, the Army Chief attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander, General Michael E. Kurilla, and the change of command ceremony welcoming Admiral Brad Cooper as the new CENTCOM chief.
COAS praised General Kurilla’s leadership and his role in enhancing Pakistan–US military cooperation, while extending best wishes to Admiral Cooper for continued collaboration on shared security goals.
During his visit, General Munir also met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, to discuss matters of mutual professional interest. He invited General Caine to visit Pakistan in the future. On the sidelines, the COAS held interactions with Chiefs of Defense from friendly nations.
In a session with the Pakistani diaspora, the Army Chief encouraged overseas Pakistanis to stay confident in the country’s future and play a proactive role in attracting investments. The diaspora assured their support for Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
