Dominican Republic Beat Japan 7-1 to Top U-15 Baseball World Cup Group A

The Dominican Republic defeated Japan 7-1 in the final Group A game of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026, finishing first in the group and securing a place in the Super Round.
The Dominican Republic, Mexico and Japan all ended the Opening Round with 4-1 records. The Dominican Republic secured the top position through the tournament’s tiebreaking system, with Mexico finishing second and Japan third.
The three teams will now carry a 1-1 record into the Super Round.
Group B had already concluded in Cancun, with the United States finishing first, followed by Chinese Taipei and Nicaragua.
As a result, the United States will begin the Super Round with a 2-0 record. The Dominican Republic, Mexico, Japan and Chinese Taipei will each start with 1-1 records, while Nicaragua will enter the next phase at 0-2.
The Super Round will feature six teams competing for places in the championship game. Results against teams that advanced from the same Opening Round group will be carried forward.
Meanwhile, Venezuela and Germany will begin the Placement Round with 2-0 records. Australia and Cuba will carry 1-1 records, while Czechia and South Africa will start at 0-2.
The U-15 Baseball World Cup will continue with the Super Round and Placement Round as teams compete for positions in the final stages of the tournament
