Golden State Warriors Not Actively Pursuing Josh Giddey Amid Trade Complexities
Despite rumors linking Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey to the Golden State Warriors, sources from both teams confirm there is no active pursuit or sign-and-trade talks involving Giddey and Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga this offseason.
According to reports, the financial complexities of a potential double sign-and-trade deal make the scenario unlikely. Such a trade would trigger a hard salary cap for Golden State and require both teams to include additional contracts to balance the deal, making it difficult to execute.
Josh Giddey, a 22-year-old Australian point guard, had a solid 2024-25 season with the Bulls, averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and shooting nearly 38% from three-point range over 70 games.
While the Bulls have offered Giddey a four-year, $80 million contract, the restricted free agent is reportedly seeking closer to $30 million annually.
