Lowe and Caminero Power Rays to 8-2 Win Over Athletics

West Sacramento, Calif. – The Tampa Bay Rays cruised to an 8-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night, highlighted by two-run homers from Brandon Lowe and Junior Caminero and a strong outing from Drew Rasmussen.
Home Run Highlights
Lowe blasted his 24th home run of the season in the second inning off J.T. Ginn, giving Tampa Bay a commanding 6-0 lead. Caminero added a two-run homer in the ninth, capping off a powerful night at the plate.
Pitching Performance
Rasmussen (10-5) tossed six solid innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out multiple batters. His AL-best scoreless streak of 17 1/3 innings ended when Lawrence Butler hit a two-run homer in the third inning, marking the first extra-base hit Rasmussen had allowed in his last four starts.
Early Offense
The Rays got an immediate jump on Oakland, with Caminero, Josh Lowe, and Jake Mangum driving in runs in the top of the first. Mangum also scored on a throwing error, setting the tone for the dominant outing.
Athletics Struggles
Oakland starter J.T. Ginn (2-5) struggled, giving up six runs, five earned, on six hits in just two innings.
