Men’s U21 teams set for action in Jiangmen

2025 FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship Begins in Jiangmen, China

The future stars of men’s volleyball will take center stage in Jiangmen, China, as the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship kicks off from August 21 to 29 at the Jiangmen Sports Center.

A total of 24 teams will compete: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Czechia, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Morocco, Poland, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and USA.

The format features four pools of six teams each in the opening round-robin stage. The top four from every group will advance to the Round of 16, while the bottom two enter classification matches. Every team will play through to the final day, ensuring a full ranking from first to 24th place.

Defending champions Iran, 2023 silver medalists Italy, and bronze winners Bulgaria are all returning to chase glory once again.

Opening Day Fixtures (August 21)

  • 11:00 local time (03:00 GMT): USA vs Thailand, Iran vs Kazakhstan, Bulgaria vs Cuba

  • 14:00 local time (06:00 GMT): China vs Türkiye, Poland vs Puerto Rico, Brazil vs Japan

  • 17:00 local time (09:00 GMT): Egypt vs Morocco, Canada vs Korea, Czechia vs Colombia

  • 20:00 local time (11:00 GMT): Italy vs hosts Indonesia, Tunisia vs France, Argentina vs Ukraine

This marks Jiangmen’s debut as host of the Men’s U21 Championship, promising nine days of exciting action to close the 2025 age-group season.
