PCB Launches Regional Match Referees Induction Courses Across Pakistan
Lahore, 25 August 2025 –
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the launch of Match Referees Regional Induction Courses to develop a skilled pool of match referees for all Regional Cricket Associations. This initiative aims to strengthen domestic cricket operations while identifying and nurturing emerging talent in match officiating.
The programme targets individuals aspiring to become professional Match Referees in Pakistan cricket. Priority will be given to former cricketers, though candidates with umpiring experience or strong educational backgrounds are also eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:

Age: 30–45 years

Qualification: PCB Panel Umpire (2+ years), former first-class cricketer (50+ matches), international cricketer, or non-first-class candidate with 16 years of education

Language: Fluent in written English

Skills: Leadership, conflict-resolution, communication, report writing, and handling disciplinary matters

IT proficiency: MS Office, internet, basic digital tools

Physical fitness: Must handle refereeing duties and travel as needed

Registration fee: PKR 10,000 via Pay Order/Demand Draft to PCB

Written Test – in-person assessment after course completion

Interview/Viva – evaluation of cricket laws knowledge, communication, and interpersonal skills
