Allisen Corpuz Shines with Opening 65 to Share FM Championship Lead

Allisen Corpuz showed her patience and determination on Thursday, carding a brilliant 7-under 65 to grab a share of the first-round lead at the FM Championship. She is tied at the top with Sei Young Kim and Jodi Ewart Shadoff after an exciting opening day at TPC Boston.

Corpuz caught fire late in her round, making four birdies in her final six holes, including a clutch 10-foot putt on the par-4 ninth to pull even with Kim.

Shadoff, who closed her round with four straight birdies, credited both long-range putting and strong ball striking for her score. β€œHoled a lot of putts outside 20 feet, so that definitely helps,” she said.

Meanwhile, world No. 1 Nelly Korda debuted at TPC Boston with a 67 (-5) after switching to a blade-style putter, rolling in seven birdies.

Corpuz, winner of the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach, is chasing her second LPGA title. Her last top-10 finish came in March at the Ford Championship.

With the leaderboard stacked early, fans can expect a thrilling weekend of golf at TPC Boston.
